DEATH TAKES BASIN PIONEER

Fred W. Bench Passes Away At The Home Of His Daughter In Duchesne, Wednesday Evening, At 8:45.

Fred W. Bench, 67, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leland Hair Wednesday evening at 8:45 following a short illness.

Mr. Bench was taken suddenly ill at his home in Boneta two weeks ago and was taken to the home of his son and daughter, Mrs. Leland Hair in Duchesne. Death came as a sresult of pneumonia with other complications.

The deceased was born in Manti, October 21, 1965. In the year 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Madsen of that place, and resided there until 1905, when he took up a homestead at Boneta, and shortly after moved his family to hs new home.

To this union 11 children are now living, as follows: Mrs. Gilbert Jones and Grant Bench of Provo; Tatten Bench, Talmage; Mrs. Ed Moffitt, Ruth Bench and Edwin Bench of Bonetta; Mrs. Leland Hair and Mrs. John Odekirk, Duchesne; Mrs. Jos. Bentley, Juarez, Mexico and Donald Bench of Duchesne. There are twenty-three grandchildren living. In addition to the above the deceased leaves his widow to mourn his passing.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bench have always been prominently identified in all matters in the interest of the community where they lived. The very fine quality of the children reared as a result of the union of Mr. and Mrs. Bench is an evidence of their high standing as parents and good citizens.

Funeral services will ne held in Boneta, Saturday (tomorrow). Interment will be in Boneta Cemetery.
