JONESBORO Norman G. "Fergie" Ferguson, 77, died Wednesday in Marion General Hospital.

Norman was born in Marion, to Henry Ferguson and Rachael (Perdue) Ferguson, and they preceded him in death. He married Sally Lloyd Ferguson and she survives. He retired from General Motors after 27 years of employment where he worked as a skilled tradesman. He also worked at the VA Medical Center for 16 years. He was a 32nd degree mason with the Jonesboro Lodge #105, where he was a member for 27 years. He was a member of the Ft. Wayne Scottish Rite, and the First Christian Church of Marion. He was a coach at Westview school and R.J. Baskett Middle School. He served in the National Guard for 7 years. He was the #1 fan of his grandkids sports teams and was a Bobby Knight fan. His family was his life. He loved his home and family and was kind to all he knew.

Survivors are his wife, Sally Ferguson, Jonesboro; daughters, Pam (Bob) Goins, Jonesboro, Karen (Rick) Wolf, Jonesboro, Kelly (Rob) Feller, Jonesboro, Shelly (Ron) Jones, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Angela Goins, Amanda (Adam) Grubb, Alaina Goins, Karli Feller, Riley Feller; 6 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Braden Goins, Emily McCoy, and Addison Grubb; 9 step-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Margaret Orsborn, Gas City; sister-in-law, Rose Pope, best friends, Doyle (Judy) Lewis.

Also preceded in death by brother, William (Jr.) Reel; Sister Inez Hannis.

Services are today, October 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City with Reverend Rodger Moore officiating. Burial will take place in the Estates of Serenity, Marion.

Visitation was Thursday, October 16, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic Rites Service at 7:30 p.m.
