Bertha Genevieve Louise Ball, one of eight children born to Edward and Anna
Alvena (Kuhlman) Burch, was born on September 28, 1919 at Strang, Nebraska. She passed away on April 14, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Bertha attended school and graduated from Superior High School. She was united in marriage to Paul Ball on April 23, 1941 in Beloit, Kansas. This union was blessed with 5 children. Bertha was a 75 year member of the First Baptist Church in Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul on June 16, 1989; two
brothers, and four sisters.
Survivors include her children: Sharon Griess of Lincoln, Nebraska; Richard Ball and wife Yoshimi of San Diego, California; Diane Biltoft and husband Roger of Oak, Nebraska; Marilyn Hoffman and husband Robert of Juniata, Nebraska; and
Janis Baylie and husband Randy of Holdrege, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren: Kevin Griess, Bryan Biltoft, Julie Garman, Ryoko Ball, Mayuko Ball, Mason Hoffman,
Aaron Hoffman, Acacia Hoffman, Ashley Stover and Abbey Baylie. 11 great
grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene James of Cheney, Kansas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.
