Dr. Bob G. Banister, a Conway physician and surgeon, died after a lengthy bout with cancer. Dr. Banister began private practice in 1960 as a family physician in the Banister-Lieblong Clinic. Survivors included his wife, two sons, a daughter and one grandchild.

The Dr. Bob G. Banister Chapel at Conway Regional Medical Center will be dedicated during an ecumenical ceremony at 2 p.m. today at its new location on the first floor of the medical center.
A reception in the Women's Center Education Classroom will follow the chapel dedication. All ministers in Faulkner County have been invited to the dedication and reception.
The chapel is a memorial to the late Dr. Bob G. Banister, who practiced medicine at Banister Lieblong Clinic in Conway until 1989. Banister, a former chief of staff at Conway Regional, is remembered for his strong Christian beliefs. While his expertise was in the field of family medicine, Banister also demonstrated his commitment to the community through his involvement in his church and the Conway Regional Board of Directors.
