Elizabeth Ann McClimont Marriott was born on 10 February 1837 to John McClymont and Elizabeth Ann Kelty McClymont in Scotch Ridge Near St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. After Elizabeth's mother's death, Elizabeth was adopted by her great uncle David H. Joyce with whom she came to LaMoille. The trip was made from Ledge, now called Duffron, New Brunswick by boat to Boston, from there to Buffalo by rail, thence by boat to Chicago and from there by hired wagon to LaMoille, this was about 1845. In 1874 she united with the Congregational Church of LaMoille and remained there for the rest of her life. On June 10 1852 Elizabeth was married to John Marriott in Bureau County. Children born of this marriage were: Joseph Marriott, Elanore Jane Marriott, Laura B. Marriott, Isaac Norris Marriott and John McClymont Marriott. In 1882 John departed for Buffalo County Nebraska and Wlizabeth lived out her remaining years in her home in LaMoille. She died on 12 August 1920 of heart failure and was buried in Greenfield Cemetery on 14 August 1920.
