Margaret B. Beck, 62, of Laurel died May 30 at her Laurel home following an extended illness.
She was born August 20, 1914, in Gibbtown, the daughter of Tom and Ouida Campbell. Her grandfather was one of the first settlers in the Gallatin Valley. She helped move her family to the Gallatin in 1933 by driving a wagon from the homestead, located about 30 miles from Roundup, to their home seven miles southeast of Manhattan.
She was married to Edward Beck, December 22, 1939, in Butte. He died in 1966.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel and The Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers in Bozeman.
Survivors include a son, Edward, of Billings; a daughter, Maxine Steinmetz of Laurel; two brothers, Ernest Campbell of Billings and James Campbell of Bozeman; a great aunt and uncle, Charles and Mary Sales of Bozeman and eight grandchildren.
Burial was in the Meadowview Cemetery. Casketbearers for the graveside services were Neal Curtis, Bill Sales, Kenneth Cook, Wallace Curtis, Ernest Curtis, and Wilbur Curtis.
