Alvin Pavey Callantine, 84, of Manhattan died Friday, March 15, 1996, at the Bozeman Care Center.
He was born February 6, 1913 in Bozeman, a son of Oran and Sadie Pavey Callantine. He had worked as a self-employed miner of gold and silver. Alvin was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He loved to play his guitar and enjoyed western music and reading.
He is survived by his daughter, Darlene and her husband, Gary Koester of Missoula; three sisters, Lola Monroe of Brookings, Ore., Wilma Staat and Donna Burns of Bozeman; two brothers, Francis Callantine of Hartford City, Ind., and Wayne Callantine of Brookings, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his long-time friend and companion, Millie McLees of Manhattan.
Cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will be held at a later date with interment of the cremated remains at the Morgan Cemetery. Dahl Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
