John Gibbons, 87, Rankin, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday 5/18/1982 of natural causes.
A lifelong Illinois resident, he was born 6/16/1894 at Cissna Park, Illinois, the son of John & Louisa Hindman Gibbons. He married his 2nd wife Ottilie Seidel on 7/2/1947 at Havana and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter Evelyn Leech, Joliet; one son Edward Gibbons of Gibson City, six grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.
One son, John, one brother & 6 sisters are deceased. Mr. Gibbons was a retired farmer.
He served in England, France, Germany & Italy during WWI and was a 62-yr. member of the Rankin American Legon & Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Rankin (Il.)
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Seidel Funeral Home, Rankin & at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Lynch officiating. Burial will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda, Il.
