James Edwin (Jim) Bell, 58, of Holly Springs died January 17, 2005, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965 and was a machinist for Mitchell & Son of Holly Springs. He was a Baptist.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. January 20 at the Peebles Funeral Chapel in Somerville, Tenn. with Rev. David Thomas, pastor of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, officiating. Burial was in Hood Cemetery in the Warren community of Fayette County. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Ruby Jean Yancey Bell; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Clark of Deer Park, Tx.; a son, James Edward Bell of Deer Park, Tx.; a stepdaughter, Angela Scott of Indianapolis, Ind.; his stepson, Edgar Ground of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Sandra Ann Yancey of Byhalia, Elizabeth Sue Porterfield of Joiner, Ark.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Matt Butler, Bobby Hymens, Steve Jennings, Randy Nichols, Randy Porterfield and Don Tucker.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research hospital, 332 North Lauderdale, Memphis, TN, 38106.
