ABOOD Funeral - Mass for Mrs. Ejonie M. Abood, 93, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, in Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Fred Park, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South where the family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. and where a Vigil service will be held at 6:30 P.M Wednesday. Born July 18, 1910 in Aitaneet, Lebanon, Mrs. Abood died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in Jacksonville. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. JoAnn (William) Najem; her son, Norman J. Abood, both of Jacksonville; her sister, Mrs. Lorraine Azrak of Boca Raton, FL; her brother, Col. Edmond P. Abood, U. S. Armyret. of Virginia; three grandchildren, Lawrence J. (Gina) Najem, Paula N. (Joseph) Sleiman, and Camille N. (Jack) Snober; and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Abood arrived in America as a child passing through Ellis Island with her siblings. She lived in Brooklyn, NY until she married her loving husband Toofy and moved to Jacksonville. They were married for 58 years. She and her beloved T. N. operated motels and restaurants in Jacksonville Beach for many years. She was a Charter member of the Catholic Women's Club. Her kind, gentle, loving manner radiated from her to all who know her and loved her. Her pride and joy was her family, and they will cherish and treasure the years they were blessed to have her in their lives. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren gave her much happiness. The flowers she so loved represented her own beauty, both physical and spiritual. She was a shining star in our lives, and her legacy of unselfish love will forever be with us. A special thank you to Dr. Louis Akra for his kind, considerate and compassionate care
