Funeral services were held at the Crummy Funeral Home in Reynolds on Monday afternoon for Mrs. William Babcock, age 78, who died Friday night, May 4, in St. Anthony's hospital in Rock Island. A resident of Reynolds for many years Mrs. Babcock had been residing for the past year in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Artie Baker, at Sherrard. She had been a hospital patient for less than a week. Interment was in the Sugar Grove cemetery.
Cressie Gorman, daughter of William and Mary Gilmore Gorman, was born Mar. 8, 1884, in Perryton where she received her education. She was married to William Babcock in Aledo, June 21, 1904. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
She is survived by the widower; the daughter; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ben Sharp, of Reynolds, two brothers and seven sisters preceded her in death.
