According to an article in the Easton Free Press of February 28, 1907, Miss Bartholomew was hit by a train as she walked from her workplace in West Easton to her boarding-house during the evening of February 26, 1907. The accident occurred in Glendon. She was struck by a New Jersey Central train. She was the daughter of Irwin (or Ervin) and Ida Bartholomew and was 16 at the time of her death.
The reason for the marker being erected by her fellow employees is unknown at this time.
