Roy married Doris DeGrenier in 1950; she died in 1971 after a long illness. Roy retired in 1987. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making clocks. In his earlier days, he enjoyed fishing, canoeing and taking family trips to Northern Minnesota & Wisconsin. He also occasionally traveled to California to visit Doris's family. Roy also enjoyed tumbling agates. Roy loved gatherings with his sister's families and loved gabbing with their husbands, Calvin, Tom & Donnie.
Survivors include 3 children: Judith Miller of Red Wing, Vicky Winkler (Barry Winkler) of Calif., Robert Miller of Lake City, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Janell (Tom) Enberg of Ellsworth, Wis., Viola Danielson (Donnie-deceased) of Red Wing and Evelyn (Calvin) Baker of Bay City, Wis.
In addition to his wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Dale Lynn, and his parents, Henry & Dorris Miller.
*Roy's sister Viola passed away in 2011.
Like a tiny seed
That fell to earth.
When no one cared
Or knew it's worth.
Through wind and rain
Sleet and snow.
It sprouted roots.
And began to grow.
Now Whoever thought
That you and me.
Would be one branch
Of that mighty tree.
