Raymond D. Burt
UNIONTOWN _ Raymond D. Burt, 74, of Uniontown died Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott.
He was born June 11, 1900, in Uniontown and worked for the Kansas Highway department, retiring in 1965.
He was a member of the Excelisior Masonic Lodge and the Mary A. Kepler Order of Eastern Star. On June 16. 1919 he married Zoe Brown in Ft. Scott. she died in December, 1931. He then married Hazel stone, on July 7, 1940, in Webb City, Mo., who survives at the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Lyal Burt of Fort Scott and Dale and ellis Burt, both of Tillamook, Ore., three daughters, Mrs. Elda Tackett of Bay City, Ore., Mrs. Arlene Gunderson of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. Alice Reece of New York City; one sister, Mrs. Opal Alsop of Fort Scott; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Uniontown Baptist Church with the rev. W. B. Wiggans and the Rev. Wesley Fornwalt officiating. Burial will be in Uniontown Cemetery under the direction of Earl's Memorial Home in Fort Scott.
Pallbearers for the funeral of Raymond Burt were all nephews and were V. I., Esker, Dalton and Charles Burt, Harold Alsop and Kenneth Reeder.
A vocal duet, Anna Mae Walker and Ethel Barnett, was accompanied by Gloria Pefley. Mrs. Glen Epp, organist, played the processional and recessional.
