WILLIAM ANTHONY ADAMS William Anthony Adams was born in Pulaska {Pulaski} County, Missouri, May 2, 1868. At the age of six he moved with his parents to Texas for a short period and then on to Arkansas where he grew to manhood. He met and married Martha Louisa Finley December 24, 1888, and to this union was added three children; Henry T., Hester, and D. A. In December, 1937, he established his home in Jones, Oklahoma, where he lived until his death April 30, 1961. He became a Christian at the age of twelve and joined the Mount Gilead Baptist church where he served until 1937. During his service with this church he was ordained to the Deaconship and served in this capacity until he moved to Jones. At the time of his death, he was a member of the First Baptist church of Jones and served as Deacon until failing health led to his retirement. He has been a Christian for 81 years. He is survived by one son, D. A., of the home; one daughter, Hester Aynes, Jones, Oklahoma; one sister, Jane Brown, of Waldron, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jones - William A. Adams, 93, died Sunday in Hillcrest Hospital, Oklahoma City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baptist Church here, with burial in the IOOF cemetery. The Baggerley Funeral Home, Edmond, is in charge of arrangements. Born in Missouri, he came to Oklahoma in 1936 settling near Jones. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hester Aynes, Jones; a son, D. A., Jones and a sister, Mrs. Jane Brown, Waldron, Ark.
