John was born in Portland. He was a printer for the U.S. Forest Service. John is survived by his sons, Ben and Leonard; and daughters, Joni Simpson, Mary Rohner, Mindy Rohner and Geraldine Erma; and former wife, Ann Rohner. A graveside service will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center - Milwaukie.

John Rohner
World War II veteran, 82

John Rohner, 82, of Johnson City, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, in Johnson City.

He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Portland, to John Rohner Sr. and Grace Marie Snowden.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the Post 185 band and the Methodist Church.

Family members said he enjoyed working in his shop.

He is survived by two sons, Ben Rohner of Estacada and Leonard Rohner of Oregon; four daughters, Mary Rohner of Warrenton and Joni Simpson, Mindy Rohner and Geraldine Erma, all of Oregon; a former wife, Ann Rohner of Warrenton; and a sister, Jodi Slavoc of Oregon.

A graveside service was held at Willamette National Cemetery.

Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie was in charge of the arrangements.
