Joseph was married to Ludvina Alma Bode on Oct. 29, 1938 at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend, and they had six children.

Visitation: 4-8:00 p.m., Thursday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Deacon Robert Smerek. Additional visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church February 28, 2003 at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. February 28, 2003 at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church, Osage Bend. The Rev. Louis E. Dorn will officiate.
Interment: St. Margaret of Antioch Cemetery, Osage Bend.

He was born in Osage Bend to Henry and Mary Bertha Wankum Bisges. He was married on October 29, 1938 in Osage Bend to Ludvina Alma Bode who survives at the home. Other survivors include three sons, Gilbert J. Bisges, Jefferson City; Dennis F. Bisges, Kansas City; and Eugene H. Bisges, Osage Bend; three daughters, Ruth C. Rosebrough, Berniece M. Bisges, and Phyllis A. Heckemeyer, all of Jefferson City; 22 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Bisges, Taos; and two sisters, Rosie Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; and Alice Bungart, Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by an infant great-granddaughter.

He farmed all his life in the Osage Bend area. He was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church, Osage Bend; Holy Name Society; and served on many building and picnic committees.

Memorials are suggested to St. Margaret of Antioch Cemetery Fund, 12025 Route W, Jefferson City, MO 65101; or Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
