Sina was born in Norway and came to America aboard the Bark Tanaro in 1866 from Christiana - Riser May 13 to Quebec June 26. She was six years old when she moved. Her name on the passenger list is recorded as Lina Christiansdatter Svendsbakken.
Her life ended too soon. "Sina Aanrud was riding home with a group of young people in a horse drawn sleigh. The horses were being driven at a fast run by the high spirited youngsters and while turning a corner the sleigh overturned. Sina was thrown out by the impact and striking a fencepost died of the injuries."
