Remi was christianised on Oct 3th 1847 at St-Jacques-le-Mineur, Prov. of Quebec
Remi CARON was also married to Mary Plant NOEL.
Mary Plant NOEL born Aug. 1832
died Feb. 28, 1908
Remi Caron had three marriages.
His second marriage was to Mary Plant Noel. She is not listed on this gravestone.
Mary Plant Noel (Newell) was previously married to Paul Noel (Newell). Her death certificate reads she is buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Neither her first husband, Paul Noel and their daughter, Mary Jane WELLS can be found in the cemetery although, their death certificates state they are buried in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
What is also interesting is that Mary's first husband, Paul Noel was buried at the old St. Mary's Cemetery beside the church. The church moved the graves to the present Holy Rosary Cemetery site at the turn of the 19th century. This may be another reason why Mary and Paul's stone are missing. There is rumor speculation that old gravestones were abandoned at the time during the change-over of cemeteries. I've been told the woods across the street from the present Holy Rosary Cemetery may hold the key to many missing gravestones from the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
