Asil Myrick is the son of Daniel Charles Myrick and Ann Priscilla Eacott.
At the age of two on October 7th,1852 Daniel, wife (Ann) and four children (Ira, Thomas, Lois and Asil) sailed from Western Australia on the barque Merope a Colonial whaler for Adelaide, South Australia. Where the family made their home in the area at Currency Creek.
The family stayed there until 1867 and 1868. Daniel and daughter Lois Ann and her two small children Ellen Ann and John William (Brown) left Australia on January 15, 1867 on the Isabella Hercus, sailed direct route to New York from Australia. Ship arrived May 22, 1867.

Ann and the rest of the family followed on January 1, 1868 on the ship Inveraray to London, from London they took the Cella to New York. Arrived there on May 23,1868.
Daniel had purchased property in Pennsylvania May 5, 1862. A number of his siblings lived there.
Daniel Myrick was a Ship's Master, ships owner, ship builder, land owner, farmer, carpenter, machinist, miller (grain and saw) and ran a still to purify water. All of his occupatons are listed in Australian licenses, newspapers and other documents. See Daniel's memorial for more family info.

Asil Myrick married his first wife Ida Ann Van Patton-Wedge on January 16, 1871 at the Methodist Episcopal Parsonage in Harpersville, Chenango Co. NY. By Rev. C.D. Shepard. She was the adopted daughter of Joel Wedge and Catherine Harriet Smith.The Van Patton's lived next door in census records. Ida born in 1852 Afton, Chenango Co. NY. Died between 1875 and 1880 unknown.

Asil and Ida had one son William Charles Myrick born May 5,1873 Pennsylvania. He married November 30, 1895 Sault Sainte Marie, Chippewa Co. Michigan to Christina Emeline (Emma) Lehman born April 28,1878 in Canada to Louis Lehman and Elizabeth Neubecker.
Ida Ann Myrick died shortly after William's birth. Asil was a widow in 1880 and William living with his grandmother Ann Myrick.

Asil moved to Charlevoix Co. Michigan where on Oct.18,1888 Hudson twsp,Charlevoix Co. Mich. he married Ida May Rose the daughter of William Rose and Harriet Emeline Overton.The marriage didn't last. Asil and Ida had one daughter Grace Edith born Dec. 21, 1891 Charlevoix Co.,Mich. Grace died 11-16-1971 at Charlevoix. On Jan.26, 1897 Ida May married Joseph Spencer. Ida May died Sept. 17,1925 Traverse, Grand Traverse Co. Michigan.

Grace Edith married 3 time in Michigan. On Oct. 23, 1897 to Robert J. Holmes age 50 she was 16.
On Nov. 16, 1911 to Francis (Frank) Alfred Decker 25 she 20.
Frank died Oct. 20, 1935 Charlevoix, Charlevoix Co. Mich. They had 7 children, #1 Charles Franklin 9-9-1911, wife Letha, #2 Edward Roland 6-5-1913, #3 Alma 9-22-1915,husband Lester Hosler, #4 Margaret Leona 7-25-1920, husband Clifford L.Derenzy, #5. Nellie 1925, husband Orman Lewis Bowers, #6. Blanch E. 3-28-1927, husband Mr. Culter, #7 Phillip 1934, wife Donna Ann Derand.
Grace remarried between 1947 and 1963 to Hollie Orn Bayliss, his first wife died in 1947.

Asil took a homestead on March 23, 1901 of 160 acres in Stone Co. Mississippi. He later took another 160 acre homestead at Crank Creek, Harney Co., Oregon. Met all requirements to obtain his land patent on March 17, 1913. He sold his land on November 24, 1913 for $2,000.00 to J.M. Jones. He then moved to Jackson Co. Kansas where he died.

1900 Sault Sainte Marie, Chippewa Co. Michigan. Living with son William, listed as Azil Merrick.
1910 Crank Creek, Harney Co. Oregon. Listed as Adel Myrick. Land patent has Asil Myrick.
1920 Delia City, Washington Twsp, Jackson Co. Kansas.

Asil did have 4 half siblings Isabella Myrick-Bartholomew, Daniel Charles Myrick Jr. the second one, he died at age 13, William Henry and George Simpson died age 2.
