WILLIAMSBURG - Charles W. Abney, 87, died shortly after midnight this morning in the Henry County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The Lapel native was a retired employe of the Brookside Corporation Plant in McCordsville and a former owner of an Indianapolis foundry. He was a member of the Pocahontas Council No. 350 and the D. of P. improved order of Redman Lodge in Indianapolis.
Survivors include two brothers, Alfred of Muncie and George of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Montgomer of DeKalb, Ill. and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Ronald Sears Funeral Home in Fortville with the Rev. Philip Shomo of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial will follow at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Friday.
