Edward L. "Red" Adams , who served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, died Friday at his residence. He was 82.
A lifelong Mobilian, Adams was chief engineer at the Admiral Semmes Hotel, the Mobile Municipal Auditorium and the University of South Alabama campus.
His memberships included West Chickasaw Baptist Church and the Shriner Patrol. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie West Adams of Mobile; one sister, Margaret Adams Bailey of Mobile; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home, where services are set for 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
