Mr. Brazil was a career navy man serving from April 1939 to August 1957. He was assigned to the Mare Island Navy Hospital and also served on the USS Boggs, USS Solace, USS Henderson, USS Praire, USS Vammen, USS Braine, USS Ingersol and during WWII the USS Iowa (BB61). He was both a WWII and Korean war veteran and was awarded the United States Navy Good Conduct medal with 3 reenlistment bars, WWII Victory medal, American Defense medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal, China Service medal with bronze star, Philippine Liberation medal, Navy Occupation medal, Korean Service medal and the UN Korean Service medal.
