Dorothy Evans Adair Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Dorothy Adair, age 80, died March 08, 2010. Born Mar. 28, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA to David William and Phyllis Mae Galloway Evans. Married Edward Carroll Adair in the St. George Temple on Dec. 19, 1946.
Dorothy was a loving wife and mother. She was an excellent homemaker. She made incredible candy, pastries, bread, and was a fantastic seamstress. Dorothy was an avid reader, loved to learn, and encouraged her family in the importance of education. Active in the LDS church, she served in many callings. Dorothy particularly enjoyed her callings in the Relief Society as ward and stake president. She had a delightful sense of humor.
Survived by her husband of 63 years; daughters, Diane Norton, Virginia Stone, Linda (Cory) Hancock, and Jana (Bruce) Beck; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grand-children; two sisters, Delores (her twin), and Melba. Preceded in death by her two brothers and one sister; grandson, DeWayne Norton, his wife and two daughters.
A funeral service will be held Fri., March 12, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Western Hills Ward, 5107 S. 5600 W., Kearns. Viewings to be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Thurs., at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial.
