Opal Adamson, a resident of Irving for 60 years, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was born September 6, 1922 in Longview, Texas. She is survived by her children Ellen Lavallee and husband AJ of the Village, Florida, Wanda King of Campbell, Texas, Rachel Vogt of Arlington, George Adamson and wife JoCarol of Irving, and Kathie Savage and husband Van of Belton;18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren and siblings Charlie Hill and wife Barbara of Maybank, Robert Hill and wife Pattie of Payne Springs, Joe Hill and wife Nancy of Murchison, Floyd Hill of Seven Points, Juanita Hutson and husband Jack of Austin, Bill Hill and wife Pattie of Lindale, Jane Gordon of Red Oak, and Linnie Browning of Plano. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 19, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Irving with Rev. Sammy Hargrove and Rev. Russell Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church/Building Fund, 211 W. Third St., Irving, TX 75060, or Tender Heart Hospice, 3210 West Park Row Dr., Arlington, TX 76013.
