John C. Bennett, a 48-year-old Trenton resident, died at 7:29 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m.on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at Mitchell Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett was born on April 28, 1960 in Tacoma, WA, the son of Eddie Sr. and Joan Miller Bennett. He moved to Trenton in 1975 and joined the Army reserves at age 18. He worked as a laborer in Trenton until the last couple of years when his health deteriorated.
He is survived by his mother, Joan Bennett of Trenton; his father, Eddie Bennett of Tacoma; a son, Robert Bennett of Springfield; two daughters, Anita Bennett of Trenton and Carla Jo Seibert of Lebo, KS; two brothers Eddie Bennett and Steve Bennett of Trenton; a sister. Bernadine Ellis of Trenton; his fiancée, Madonna Svaglic of Trenton; a cousin, Ryan Miller of Trenton; two grandchildren, McKayla Seibert and Skyler Bennett; and other cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Sue Bennett.
