Headstone was placed in this cemetery as a memorial, however actual resting place is on the Homestead Farm at 39 Larsen Rd. in East Amwell, NJ current owner is James Rice, (2008). There are 3 headstones still standing one with the initials LC. Lewis was married to Lucretia Woolsey 1709-1812. His family can be documented back to the Boston, MA area to 1653. Lewis' father John Chamberlin was very active in city politics. Lewis was a Judge during colonial days in Hunterdon County, NJ

The Father of Lewis Chamberlin was John Chamberlin and his mother was Rebecca Morris. His grandfather was Lewis Morris (Passage Point, NJ) and his grandmother was Elizabeth Almy the daughter of Christopher Almy and Elizabeth Cornell of Portsmouth, RI and Shrewsberry, NJ. The gateway ancestor to America and arriving in 1638, was William Almy, the father of Christopher Almy and his mother was Audrey Barlow. The Barlow family has been traced back to Charlemagne and one of the Sureties of the Magna Charta, William de Huntingfield. Many Knights have come out of this family.
