This is a cenotaph marker only. He was buried on the Murdock home place. The portion of the land where he was buried is now under the bay.

He married Mamie Jones who, after his death, married his first cousin Luther Syphrett.Willie's parents were William Isaac MURDOCK and Anna Laura FUSSELL.

He married Mary Georgine Josephine JONES on 6 APR 1904 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 1919 Decatur, corner of White, in Houston, Harris Co, Texas. (The marriage license was issued 29 MAR 1904).

His children were Annie Orlean, Lucille, and William Boyd MURDOCK.

Cause of death: Struck on head by tongue of wagon.

There may be some discrepancy in his age, as the 1900 census states that he was 22 at last birthday, but the death records show that he was 34 in January, 1909.

Since Willie's grave on the old Murdock place cannot be located, and is either under water or under a housing development, a cenotaph has been erected in his memory at the Seabrook Cemetery, in Seabrook, Harris County, Texas.
