Carpenter, deputy of police, state highway watchman.
Arthur worked on building the snowsheds (wooden tunnels to protect the train tracks from the snow) on Donner Pass (around Cisco Grove, California) and in Yosemite on Tioga Pass. Also put a bridge in on the Great Blue Slide by being tied to a rope and lowered over the side of the mountain in a bosun’s chair, taking a hammer and a star bit with him to drill holes in the face of the mountain to tie the bridge to. On October 31, 1930, Arthur was appointed a deputy of police for the town of Bishop, Inyo County, California.

Local Resident Passes Away in Los Angeles
The funeral of the late Arthur C. Brammar (sic) occurred yesterday afternoon from Albright’s funeral chapel, where Rev. E. D. Hillis conducted a service. Interment at the cemetery was by Bishop Creek Lodge, Odd Fellows.
Mr. Brammar’s (sic) demise occurred in Queen of the Angels hospital in Los Angeles Monday. He went there June 7 for treatment for hernia. An operation was performed on the 9th. Peritonitis followed, causing death.
Deceased was a native of Missouri, aged 58 years, 8 months, 26 days. More recently here, he has been a watchman for the State Highway.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Brammer, and a son, James Donald Brammer, of the Toggery (a clothing store in Bishop, CA, where he worked).
