BOONEVILLE - James Blackmur "Jim" Aune, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Water Valley. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Optimist Club, and HFMA. He was the comptroller and vice president of finance at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center. He enjoyed scouting.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Wayne Smith conducting, Joel Tittle, Danny Stites and Mike Ericksen assisting, and Bro. Jerry Ryan delivering the eulogy and message. Burial will be in the Mormon Cemetery.

He is survived by a son, Eddie Aune of Memphis; three daughters, Debbie Brannum of Bells, Tenn., Sandy Benton (Mark) of Jackson, Tenn., and Marilyn Cole (Don) of Booneville; a brother, Ernie Aune of Water Valley; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilian Stovall Aune, on Jan. 29, 2002; his parents, Ole and Carrie Kelley Aune; a brother, Ole Edwin Aune; and a grandson, Erik Cole.

Pallbearers are Joseph Cole, David Cole, Michael Moskovitz, Brian Benton, Tim Benton, Ben Brannum, Patrick Brannum and Dewayne Mathis.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Galloway, 202 E. Skyline Dr., Booneville, MS 38829.
