WINSLOW, ME -- Julia A. Albert, 82, of 67 Clinton Ave., Winslow died June 28, 2009 at Mount St. Joseph.

She was born Sept. 3, 1926 in Winslow the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Koziol) Ozog.

Julia was educated in the Winslow schools and graduated from Winslow High School in 1942. She also graduated from Thomas Business School (now Thomas College) in Waterville in 1943. After graduation, Julia worked at Hollingsworth & Whitney/Scott Paper Co. for 35 years. While there she worked her way up to management secretary and was a member of Scott Management Club.

After retiring in 1983 she was a member of the Church Life Commission of St. John the Catholic Church in Winslow, serving as secretary. She was also on the committee that planned reunions for the class of 1942 from Winslow High School. Julia loved attending lunches once a month with her various ladies' groups.

Julia was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Carolyn Furman and Veronica Samulski.

Besides her husband of 62 years, Armand J. Albert of Winslow, Julia is survived by a son, Thomas J. Albert of Medford, Mass.; a daughter, Deborah A. Albert and her significant other, Mark Veilleux, of Winslow; nieces and a nephew; a cousin, Louise B. Shearer. Julia also leaves behind her good friend, Virginia.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wed. July 1, at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove St., Waterville.

The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to Drs. Ronnie and Lisa Marrache, Lakewood Continuing Care Facility, MaineGeneral Medical Center staff and especially Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home where she received loving and excellent care in her last weeks, and personal care attendants Sandra and Brenda.
