Oral J. Aldridge, 83, of Lafayette, died at 4:30 AM Saturday, April 3, 1965, in Home Hospital, which he had entered Friday night. He had been in failing health for one year. A native of Waveland, he was reared near Judyville and lived in Attica and Williamsport before moving here in 1942. He was married in 1912 at Danville, IL, to Pearl Wallace, who is employed at Modern Cleaners.
Mr. Aldridge worked at Peerless Wire Goods Co., Inc. for 16 years before he retired in 1962. He had attended Free Methodist Church at Attica, and was a member of Wire Workers Union Local 20584. He was in the Army 1910-11 in the Philippine insurrection.
Surviving with his widow are four sons, Noble Richard Aldridge of Muncie, Samuel Paul Aldridge of Waukegon, WI, Donald L. Aldridge of Lafayette and Lawrence R. Aldridge of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Stella Mae Boswell of Highland, Mrs. Ruth L. Martin of Tampa, FL, and Mrs. Dorothy F. Wands of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service April 5 at Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Carl Beaver officiating; internment in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
