Caroline Humphrey died at her North Main home on November 15, 1917 of illness. She is survived by her husband, Frank; a little son, Jack; her mother, Julia Torrey; six brothers, Arthur, Max, and Julian of Olean, John, Harry, and Carrol of this village; two sisters, Viva of Attica and Ellen of Trenton, NJ; and a host of friends. The funeral was held at the home of her mother with S. L. Strivings of Castile officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove, Gainesville.
