HARLINGEN, TX.—Audrey Louise Anderson Akin
Audrey Louise Anderson Akin, 71, passed away on September 6, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Audrey was born October 16, 1938 in Raymondville, Texas to Francis and Minnie Anderson. She graduated from Coolidge High School in Coolidge, Arizona and then went to attend Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas where she received a Teaching Degree. Audrey was employed with Sam Houston Elementary School as a P.E. Teacher for 10 years and then was employed with various schools within the Harlingen Independent School District as a substitute teacher for ten years. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, where she was generous in many ways towards her church and church family. Audrey enjoyed buying and selling antiques and at one time she owned an antique store in Harlingen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Akin.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Darla (Don) Conklin; son, Curt Akin; sister, Velda Blasingame; grandchildren, Justin Fultz, Josh Conklin, Shelby Conklin and Dusty Akin.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010, 3:00 p.m., at Restlawn
