OBITUARY

THOMAS SHERMAN ADMIRE

Thomas Sherman Admire was born on the old homestead in Whitebreast township on August 14, 1868, and departed this life November 19, 1929, at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 27 days. He was the youngest son of Jacob Admire and Mary Jane Admire. He grew to manhood and spent all of his life on the old homestead in Whitebreast township. He was educated in the public schools and the Chariton Academy. He was a self-made man, always a great reader and student; industrious, conservative and honest in all his dealings, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He will be greatly missed by the brothers and sisters who are left to mourn the loss of a true and devoted brother. They are Mrs. Margaret Stambaugh, of Oakley, Iowa; Mrs. Harriett Vincent, of Chariton, Iowa; Mrs. Tabitha Dale, of Lucas, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Quadt, of Chariton, Iowa; and Mr. James Admire, of Ainsworth, Nebraska; and Mr. Edward Admire, of Morris, Oklahoma. Also nieces and nephews and other numerous relatives and friends.

He suffered intensely but bore his affliction courageously and cheerfully to the end. His life closed like a beautiful sunset. Thus the life record of a generous neighbor and brother is inscribed and the world richer that he lived.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Alfred Mill, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at two o'clock, followed by interment in the Grimes cemetery.
