Beloved Woman of Charlotte Passes Away in Richmond.

Funeral Will be Held in Elmwood Cemetery This Morning--To Rest Beside Husband.

Telegrams received in Charlotte early yesterday afternoon announced the death in Richmond, Va., yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock of Mrs. Lizzie Orr Cochrane, widow of the late Capt. Robert E. Cochrane, and one of Charlotte's best known and most beloved women. The death occurred at the home of Daniel Murchison, brother of Mrs. L. J. Bombadier, formerly Mrs. Robert L. Cochrane, daughter-in-law of the deceased.

Mrs. Cochrane was taken ill shortly after reaching Richmond some time ago. Her daughters, Miss Minnie Cochrane and Mrs. Grace Cochrane Adams, were called to her bedside shortly after she became ill and were with her at the end.

The remains are expected to reach Charlotte on Southern train No. 11 this morning at 10:45 o'clock. The body will be taken from the train to Elmwood cemetery, where interment will take place, after a short funeral service. Rev. D. H. Rolston, D. D., pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will conduct the service. Mrs. Cochrane will be laid to rest beside her husband, the late Captain Cochrane, who died on June 2, 1917. Acting as pallbearers will be H. H. Orr, J. M. Oldham, W. M. Wilson, John M. Scott, A. T. Summey, D. B. Smith and John Henry McAden.

Mrs. Cochrane celebrated her 81st birthday about one week ago. She had spent practically her entire life in Charlotte. For many years she had resided at 601 North College street.

Mrs. Cochrane was one of the oldest, if not the oldest, of the members of the First Presbyterian church. Her life was closely knit with with that of the church and she was very active in all affairs connected with it. She was a leader of the Bible class and missionary society' a regular attendant at church, Sunday school and prayer meeting, as well as various societies of the church, with which she was closely and actively connected.

Surviving, besides her two daughters, are the following grandchildren: Robert Cochrane and Miss Grace Cochrane, children of the late Robert L. Cochrane, and his widow, now Mrs. Bombardier, and George Adams, son of Mrs. Grace Cochrane Adams.
