OBITUARY FOR ROBERT T. BEAUDRY
-------
Bob (Robert Thomas) Beaudry, 71, of Yakima, reluctantly passed away Sunday, Januray 18, 2004, at 10:25 a.m. at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Bob was born June 11, 1932, in Moxee, to Oliver Joseph and Irene (Thibodeau) Beaudry, the third of ten children. He was raised in Moxee and from a tender age, helped his father operate various farms and ranches there. He attended Holy Rosary Grade School and Marquette High School, graduating in 1951. Bob was in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956, where he was a maintenance crew chief stationed in Japan and other Pacific bases for two years.
Bob married Sandy (Thelma Noland) on May 31, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yakima. They had one son, James "Jim" Allen.
Bob was always the man who not only had answers, but also took action. He helped many young people with their problems. He became "Rock-Solid Uncle Bob" to hundreds. For many years he nursed his terminally ill wife, Sandy, raised his son, made a living and helped out anyone who came to him.
Bob managed several agricultural operations. He was also a carpenter. Some of his employers were: Boeing, Pacific Car & Foundry, Noland-Dakota Flight Service, Marq Packaging, Chinook Mobilodge, J.A. Jones at Hanford Atomic Energy Commission and Trailwagons. He was employed at Western Recreational Vehicles for the last 19 years.
At one of the loneliest times of Bob's life, a new companion, Alice Stewart and her three-year old son, Geoffrey Terrill, joined him to form another happy household. Bob began anew to raise a son, as he was so well suited to do.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping and sunshine on the beach. He enjoyed his "youth" and remained active. He even worked 40-hour weeks right up until he was stricken.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; his parents, Oliver and Irene and two brothers, Raymond and Ronnie.
Bob is survived by his son, Jim Beaudry and wife, Nita of Tacoma; his loving companion, Alice Stewart and Geoffrey of Yakima; three granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons, one sister, Donna (Cal) Paulus of Yakima; six brothers,Dick (Pat) of Mountlake Terrace, Urban (Roberta) of Yakima, Don (Derry) of Edmonds, Frank (Janell) of Kennewick, Allen (Jill) of Chehalis, Paul (Chris) of Yakima; sister-in-law, Helen Beaudry of Selah; brother-in-law, Gary (Olivia) of Reno, NV and many nieces, nephews and many friends and co-workers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, January 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment following at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Moxee.
