Jan. 27, 1928 - May 31, 2004. Charles Edward "Eddie" Atkinson, was born in Green River, Wyo., to Delceno Cornea and Hazen Lee Atkinson. He married Lee Ann Atkinson Aug. 24, 1980. They were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Las Vegas Temple April 19, 1991. As a young man he had a passion for rodeo and followed the rodeo circuit many years. Later on he loved going to rodeo's and doing temple work for his church. He will be remembered for being a hard worker and always helping those in need. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. "Cowboy" will be missed by his loving and dedicated wife, Lee Ann; six children, Lee Ann (Bob) Stocking, Ron (Kathy) Atkinson, Will (Donnel) Atkinson, Charlene (Eric) Berlin, Eddie Lynn (Pete) Funk and Todda (Joe) Sletten; stepchildren, Cindy (Virgil) Blanchard, K. Samuel (Susan) Roberts, Steven Roberts and Doug Williams; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Viola and Helen; and three brothers, Dean, Ellis and Dell. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be at 9:20 a.m. Friday, June 4, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, at Francisco Park Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ward Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Clark County Credit Union for Lee Ann Atkinson.
