Selena Marr Morris Cook
Selena Marr Morris was born on December 20, 1925 in Almy, Wyoming to Reva Neville and John Willard Morris. She married Lawrence LeRoy Cook in Evanston, Wyoming and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Lawrence and Selena had eight children. They lived in Hilliard a small ranching community southeast of Evanston, Wyoming most of their married life. They were the owners and operators of the Cook Ranch. In addition to raising their eight children on the ranch, over the years many nieces and nephews spent time in their home. Some family members stayed at the Cook Ranch for a short time and others for extended periods, all were treated as though they were Lawrence and Selena's own children. They were both great examples of hard work ethic and were always busy.
They were involved in the community as 4-H leaders teaching many young people in areas ranging from Horses, Sheep, Cooking, Sewing, Leathercraft, etc.
Lawrence and Selena enjoyed good western music and were members of a square dancing group.
The Cook family were members of the Hilliard Ward of the LDS Church. Lawrence served many years in the Sunday
School, was involved in Boy Scouting and other callings. He was ordained as a Seventy and a High Priest. Both Lawrence and Selena served as dance directors. Selena served as a teacher and was very involved in the genealogy extraction program.
Lawrence and Selena later sold the ranch to one of their sons and moved to Evanston where they spent the remainder of their years. Selena spent many hours making quilts, crocheting, and doing other crafts. After retiring Lawrence enjoyed taking care of his yard and working with his computer. He enjoyed collecting family photos which Selena scapbooked and organized for him.
Lawrence and Selena were sweethearts and had a great love for one another, their children and other family members. Selena passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Weber County, Utah on March 23, 2003. Lawrence passed away at home in Evanston, Wyoming on May 10, 2005.

It's time for our family reunion. The blue bells make me think of the times we spent "up above" on the summer range. We will miss you this year.|
