WILCOX - George M., 87, died May 24, 1968. He was born Dec 29, 1880 in Umpqua, Ore. He had lived his entire life in Douglas county. His wife, Fannie, preceded him in death in 1942. He was a retired rancher. Survivors: 2 daughters, Mrs. Jim (Mildred) Whipple, Drain, Mrs. Jerry (Jean) Whipple, Salem; 2 sons, George A. Oakland, Robert W., New Delhi, India; 1 sister, Genevieve Wilcox, Tacoma, Wash.; 1 brother R.B. Wilcox, Portland; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at the Oakland Communtiy Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Brown and Rev. Ed West officiating. private interment will follow at the Yoncalla Cemetery. The family has asked that those who wish make donations to the memorial fund at the Oakland Presbyterian Church or to the Cancer Fund, in memory of Mr. Wilcox.
