Burial Information on David Bay
David William Bay died March 12, 1893 in Hilgard, Oregon, which is a little town about 9 miles west of La Grande. He was buried in the old Pioneer Cemetery in La Grande, Oregon. When they were building the college (in 1928) now Eastern Oregon University, some of the graves were dug up and moved. He is now supposed to be buried with a daughter in Hillcrest Cemetery, but the grave is not marked. (He has no daughter in Hillcrest, but has a daughter-in-law, Caroline (Hearing) Bay, and that is the most likely place that he is buried.)
