Jennie Scott was the daughter of James Madison Scott and Sophia Jiles. James was born in Indiana March 30, 1855 and died in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas September 13, 1942. He married Sophia in 1875. George and Jennie had three daughters; Flossie Lenora Burt was born June 14, 1907 in Toronto, Kansas. She died August 2, 1926 at the age of 19. Their second daughter Hazel M. Burt married William Goodman Kirby in 1929. George and Jennie's third child was Hilda Irene Burt.
