James C. (Jim) Baggett, 78, of Powder Springs, formerly of Douglasville, died August 12, 1997. Arrangements will be announced later by Davis-Struempf Funeral Home of Austell.



The graveside service for James C. Baggett Sr. of Powder Springs, a retired materials manager at International Harvester in East Point and a World War II veteran, will be held at 4 p.m. today at Douglasville City Cemetery.
Mr. Baggett, 78, died Tuesday of cancer at Brian Center Nursing Care. Davis-Struempf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 25-year employee of International Harvester, Mr. Baggett was one of five brothers to serve in either the Navy or Marines during World War II. A Marine, Mr. Baggett saw combat duty in Guam. His wife, Ruth Dunaway Baggett, said that his late father, Seawright Baggett, was Douglas County sheriff for 22 years.
