James Watson Abbott, 69, of 1795 29th, died Tuesday, April 15, 1986, at his home of cancer.

He was born June 10, 1916, in Ogden, a son of George Lowe and Maude Hayes Abbott.

He married Margaret Louise Spargo on Sept. 7, 1947. in Ogden. She died Dec. 15, 1967.

He was reared and educated in Ogden. He attended Stanford University where he received a bachelor of arts degree.

He had been a member of the Ogden Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He was a member of the Theta Zi Fratemity at Stanford University.

He was a veteran of World War II an the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force.

He was the former president of the George A. Lowe Co. He had also worked in procurement at Hill Air Force Base.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Brent (Andrea Abbott) Shreeve. Ogden: three grandchildren; and one sister,
Mrs. Scott (Katie) Dye, Ogden.

Services will be held at the qraveside Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery with Father Francis L. Winder officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

Funeral directors, Lindquist & Sons in Ogden.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
