Valentine Timothy Hickenbottom "Higginbotham" was the son of Matthew Carl Hickenbottom "Higgenbotham" and Mary L Starkey-Hickenbottom "Higgenbotham".

He married the widow Sabra Jane Smith-Morgan and together they had seven children.

Sabra Jane Smith-Morgan Hickenbottom was the daughter of Joshua David Smith and Emily Jane Beall-Smith.

Sabra had been married first to Elijah Shelby Morgan in Calhoun County, West Virginia Nov 11, 1878. Elijah died 1889.

She would marry again to Valentine Timothy Higgenbottom on Oct 23, 1891 in Calhoun County, West Virginia.

Together they had seven children:

Sabra died of complications from an illness October 14, 1917 and year later her second husband Valentine would die from the pandemic of the "Spanish Influenza of 1918".

Sabra and Valentine left behind four living children.
