Jacob Berkowitz, 67, 113 Ardmore Pl, Utica, died Feb 14, 1988 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born May 20, 1921 in Utica, the son of Moses and Pauline Rice Berkowitz. He attended Utica Schools and in Syracuse, August 13, 1945, he married Ruth Park. He was a Veteran of WWII. In 1948, he founded Jerie's Jewelers in Rome, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Berkowitz, of Utica; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Albert Bohbot of Kfar Gidon, Israel and Mimi Berkowitz of Utica; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ira Berkowitz of San Francisco and Dr. Sam and Rona Berkowitz of West Hartford, CT; two sisters, Mrs. Saul (Edith) Parker of Irvington, NY and Gene Berkowitz of Utica; two brothers, Dr. Herman Berkeley and Theodore Berkeley, both of Utica; seven beloved grandchilden, Tiyahu, Nechama, Hagit, Devorah and Micahel Bohbot, and Moses and Nathan Berkowitz; many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services Tuesday (TODAY), 3 p.m., from Jacobson Funeral Chapels, Inc., burial will be in House of Jacob Cemetery, Whitesboro. Shivah observed at the Berkowitz residence, 113 Ardmore Place.
