W. A. ARMITAGE CLAIMED BY DEATH
PORTAGE -- Dec 30 -- W. A. Armitage passed away at his home 5 1/2 miles southeast of Bowling Green Saturday night, Dec. 28 shortly before midnight after more than a year's illness caused by cancer.

Funeral services will be at the Union Hill Church at 2:00 PM Tuesday. A short service will be held at 1:30 PM at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dale Gallier, 206 Ada Ave. Bowling Green. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dale Gallier. 206 Ada Avenue to view the remains.

He was born in Plain Township July 6, 1874, was united in marriage with Hattie Leimgruber Dec 28, 1895, having been married 40 years on the day of his passing. He was a farmer all his life tilling the soil in Portage Township since 1904. He was a steady, hard working man of honor and character and of a fine disposition.

Four children were born to this union including one set of twins; (Esther and Lester). One daughter, Cora Marie born Dec 12, 1896 preceded him in death at the age of 4 years.

Leaving to mourn his passing are his wife, two daughters and one son. Mrs. Dale (Esther) Gallier of Bowling Green, Mrs. Oren (Lucille) George of near Portage, and Lester Armitage of near Portage. He had seven grandchildren, one, Patricia George, preceded him in death. Three brothers; Jesse and Ray of Bowling Green and Floyd of Haskins. Two sisters; Mrs. Anna Critchfield of Bowling Green and Miss Elizabeth Armitage, of Haskins. A host of other relatives and friends.
