Betty Lou Adkins, 75, of South Charleston went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her partner, David Bradshaw; parents, Claude and Mary Massey; and sisters, Garnet Pauley and Mildred Tomblin.

Betty was born July 24, 1932, and was a homemaker who took great pride in taking care of her family as well as anyone else who needed her help. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Charles Wayne Grass and his wife, Pam, of Teays Valley, Diana Samples and her husband, Ed, of South Charleston, Debi Bowman of Bellaire, Fla., and Nisa Kaehlin and her partner, Cindy Toon, of North Carolina; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
