|Birth: ||Sep. 1, 1902|
Rose was the infant daughter of Michael and Mary Andes. She was born in the United States, 4 short years after her Volga German parents and sisters Elizabeth and Mary left Kamenka Russia, sailing to America on the maiden voyage of the S.S. Patricia. Passenger records reveal the young family arrived in New York May 19, 1899, and their final destination was Topeka, Kansas.
Six months after arriving in the United States Rose's sister Helen was born, followed by Rose's birh September 1, 1902.
Records at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas reveal Rose was Baptized there September 7, 1902, and later died at ten months of age on July 29, 1903. The church death records show that of the 21 names listed around 7/29/1903, 10 children including Rosa died from Measles.
