She was born January 27, 1927 in Manistee Township the daughter of the late Harold and Leona (Guenthardt) Jacobs. She attended Manistee High School. On June 22, 1946, Colleen married David R. Adamski in Manistee.
She was employed as the Luncheon Counter Manager at F.W. Woolworth and as a seamstress at Glen of Michigan.
She was an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Manistee and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, canning, baking and loved doing crossword puzzles and the Detroit Tigers.
Colleen is survived by her husband, David Adamski of Manistee; children, Dale (David) Courtney of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Kristie (Tom) Olsen of Petoskey, David (Kathleen) Adamski of Hudsonville; grandchildren, David John Courtney, Saul Courtney, Adam Lane-Olsen, Jacob Olsen, Michael Adamski, Phillip Adamski; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Betty) Jacobs, Robert (Audrey) Jacobs, and sisters, Betty (Jim) Merriman and Sally (Gerald) Hendrix, all of Manistee. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rae Hansen and Bonnie Snyder.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 5, 2013 at First Congregational Church in Manistee with Pastor Steve Davidson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions in Colleen's name may be directed to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee.
